missions
Our goal is to see everyone who calls Fairlawn Heights their home church, become involved in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, starting in Topeka and working around the world. There are three main ways to get involved in doing this: praying, giving, and going.
We want to make sure we are praying for the people Jesus misses the most. We can work tirelessly, for days on end, but if we don’t pray, our work is worthless. We need people to pray that our efforts produce lasting results.
It takes resources to reach the people Jesus misses the most. As a church, we give 10% of every dollar that comes in to our local, regional and global partners. That’s anywhere from $40-50 thousand dollars a year. We want to be known as a generous church and this is where we start.
Ultimately we want people to get in a car or hop on a plane and go to these places and be involved with leading people to Jesus. It could be as short as driving across the city or as long (and uncomfortable!) as flying around the world. There are many opportunities in our own backyard to lead people to Jesus and there are many more around the world. No matter where it is, we just want you to go! local partners; Topeka Rescue Mission, Crisis Pregnancy Outreach and Youth for Christ. We have regional partners; Native American Ministries, Hephzibah Children’s Home. And we have global partners and missionaries all over the world.
There are also two focus areas. We take a trip each spring to the Josiah and Bethany Children’s Home in Reynosa, Mexico and we have a sister church in Haskavo, Bulgaria called Fountain of Life Church. We have enjoyed a long partnership with both of these special places and continue to be excited about the future partnership.
